The United States Mint has released its latest sales figures. The report is dated August 18, 2019 and represents sales for the previous 7-day period. In that time, the Mint released several commemorative and precious medal products and, as expected, they showed strong initial sales. In fact, three of the top ten selling items this week debuted on this week’s report.
Take the top spot was the new 2018 American Innovation Dollar Reverse Proof coin. It sold an impressive 71,184 units this past week in its first week of availability. Doing the quick math, that means 95% of the 75,000 available of this coin have already sold.
The second top seller this past week was another new comer, the 2019 American Liberty Silver Medal. This 2.5 ounce 99% silver medal sold a solid 15,882 units this week and it just beat out the 2019-S American Eagle Silver Proof. That coin, its second week of availability, sold a respectable 11,643 for the week. That brings its total sales to 84,106.
Fourth place this week is another new offering from the Mint; the 2019 American Liberty 24-karat Gold 1 ounce coin. 4,948 of these were sold last week. That may not seem like a big number but with a price tag of $1900, it is a coin that few can afford. Traditionally sales of this coin are small and the 2019 variant should be no different.
Finally, rounding out the top 5, is the 2019 Proof Set. Another 4,302 were sold in the last seven days, bringing its sales total to 387,208. Indeed all of the annual sets did well this week but were over shadowed by the new offerings that were hot commodities this week.

One thing you may notice in this top ten list is the Pride of Two Nations set. A total of 97,950 of the 100,000 sets have been sold now, with another 2,948 sold in the past week.
