The United States Mint has announced the launch event and coin exchange for the upcoming National Park of America Samoa Quarter. The new quarter is the first of the America the Beautiful Quarters released in 2020 and it is the 51st coin in the series.
The event will take place on Thursday, February 12, 2020. It will be held at Su’igaula o le Atuvasa, Utulei Beach Park, Route 1, Utulei, American Samoa, 96799. The event will start at 10:00 AM Samoa Standard Time, 4:00 PM Eastern.
Immediately after the launch event, coin exchanges will be available to those in attendance. This has become a common practice for the ATB Quarters at their launch events. Those in attendance will be able to exchange currency for rolls of the quarter. There is a one roll minimum purchase and a maximum of 10 rolls can be purchased. The exchange program allows those who are able to attend the event to become some of the first to actually have the new Quarters in hand. The coins will come wrapped in Mint roll wraps to set them apart from normal bank rolls of the coins.
The launch event will be taking place ten days after the release of the Quarter from the United States Mint. Sales of rolls and bags of the coin will go on sale stating February 3, 2020 directly from the United States Mint site.
Throughout 2020, there will be five new America the Beautiful quarters launched. This will be the last full year of production for the series with only 1 coin slated to be launched in 2021.
