2020 American Eagle Gold Proof Series Set for Release March 19th

The United States Mint is ramping up to being sales of the 2020 American Eagle gold proof series of coins. The coins will be sold either individually or as a set starting on Thursday, March 19, 2020. Sales will begin at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific directly on the Mint’s site.

As with previous years, there will be four different coins in the 2020 American Eagle gold proof series. All of the coins will share a common Obverse and Reverse but will vary in size and weight. All of the coins are 22-karat gold and will range from 1-ounce, 1/2-ounce, 1/4-ounce, and 1/10-ounce coins. The face values of these coins are $50, $25, $10, and $5 respectively. All of the coins are minted at the West Point facility.

Below you will find the individual product links for the series on the Mint’s site. Note that pricing of the coins are not available yet but should be early next week. Like other bullion products, the American Eagle coins are subject to gold’s spot price.

While the pricing of these coins are to be determined, the Mint has published the particulars on buying these coins. The Mint has set no production or mintage limit on all of these products and there are no household limits on purchases. The coins should therefore remain available throughout 2020.

All of the coins, either as the set or individually, will come packages in a burgundy velvet presentation case with a satin lining on the interior. They coins will also comes with a United States Mint Certificate of Authenticity.
