The American Numismatic Association (ANA) has announced that their Colorado-based headquarters and the Money Museum are closed through April 30, 2020. The closures are a result of protocols and orders to help control the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

Colorado is considered one of the hot spots for Coronavirus and the state is currently under broad Shelter in Place orders. Virtually all businesses are closed aside from those considered essential such as grocery stores, hospitals, utilities, etc.

Below is a statement from the ANA announcing the closure.

This is an unsettling time for all of us. Many venues and events are being closed/cancelled out of an abundance of caution. The ANA headquarters building and Money Museum will be closed to the public through April 30, to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Museum patrons are invited to visit our galleries virtually in the interim.

ANA is following protocols established by the Centers for Disease Control, our state public health department and Colorado’s Governor by reducing onsite staff. Many employees are now working remotely to serve our members. Returned phone calls, emails and requests for information may take slightly longer than usual; your patience is appreciated.

Because our 2020 Summer Seminar and Pittsburgh World’s Fair of Money are months away, we remain hopeful that these events will be held as scheduled. However, we encourage you to wait to book non refundable flights and hotel accommodations until these details are confirmed. We continue to closely monitor COVID-19 developments, both locally and nationally, and will keep you updated as we navigate this rapidly evolving situation.
