The Numismatic Crime Information Center, NCIC, is asking for the public and collector’s help in recovering several stolen coins recently in Minnesota. The theft took place at the Moorhead Antique Mall in Moorhead, Minnesota on August 5, 2020. All of the stolen coins were foreign coins which, fortunately, have been certified by either NGC or PCGS.

Here is a rundown of the coins that were stolen and their certification information:

It should be noted that PCGS has only graded two of the Polish 3 Polk coins at AU 50, making it exceptionally rare.

NCIC is asking that if you have any information or see any of these coins that you contact officer Amaya at the Moorhead Police Department. Offer Amaya can be reached at 218-299-5120. Likewise, you can reach out to Doug Davis at NCIC on any leads and information. He can be reached at 817-723-7231 or doug@numismaticcrimes.org.

The Numismatic Crime Information Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation whose mission is to serve as a national and international resource for collectors, dealers and law enforcement in the education, prevention and investigation of crimes involving coins, paper money, tokens, medals and related numismatic items.

NCIC disseminates current crime related issues to the numismatic industry and provides local, state and federal law enforcement agencies with the fundamental investigative techniques, knowledge and understanding to respond effectively to the complex challenges encountered during a numismatic crime.
