The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report through to today, August 2, 2021. The bullion sales report reflects bullion coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 806,500 bullion coins in the past week. This is just slightly down from the 809,500 sold in the previous week.
As expected, the silver American Eagle one ounce bullion coin was the top seller to Authorized Purchasers of the Mint last week. 760,000 of the coins were sold, putting sales for the year at over nineteen million coins (19,010,500). This puts it slightly behind the 2020 pace of sales for the popular coin but sales are expected to pick up as all of the bullion coins now have the Type-2 Reverse.
The gold one ounce American Eagle also had sales registered by the Mint. 6,000 of the bullion version of the gold one ounce Eagle were sold in the last week, putting sales totals for the. year at 634,000. Meanwhile, the 1/10th ounce American Eagle gold coin had 40,000 coins sold last week. For 2021, that put sales of the smallest denomination gold Eagle at 280,000 coins.
Finally, the American Buffalo gold one ounce coin had another 500 coins sold last week. That puts its total sales at 208,000 for the year.
