The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report to Sunday, October 10, 2021. The bullion sales report reflects bullion coins that the Mint sold to Authorized Purchasers for the previous week and is different than the weekly numismatic product report. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 145,000 bullion coins, down significantly from the 473,000 reported in last week’s bullion sales report.
As is normally the case, the one ounce silver American Eagle was the top seller for the last week. 104,000 of the coins were sold to Authorized Purchasers last week. That accounts for 71% of the total bullion sales last week. For the year, the Mint has now sold 26.1755 million silver American Eagle coins. Meanwhile, the gold one ounce American Eagle coin was the second top seller at 22,000. That puts its sales total at just shy of 900,000 (895,000).
Two of the three fractional gold American Eagle coins also saw sales in the past week. 4,000 of the 1/25th ounce American Eagles were sold last week while another 15,000 of the 1/10th ounce coins were sold. Both of these coins have well surpassed their sales totals for last year. The Mint did not report any sales of the 1/2 ounce gold American Eagle nor the one ounce platinum Eagle.
Also this week, there were no reported American Buffalo coins sold.
