The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic sales report for the seven day period ending on Sunday, January 16, 2022. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. In this week’s report, the Mint indicated that 20,126 numismatic products were sold. This is down significantly from the just over 63,000 products sold according to last week’s report.
This week’s sales report was a true mixed bag of products new and old available from the Mint. The top selling product for last week was the 2021 Uncirculated Coin Set. The annual set had a reported 3,277 sets sold in the week. That brings its total sales since its release to 195,575. The second top seller was the 2022 Negro Leagues Baseball Proof Silver Dollar. 1,627 of these were sold last week, putting its total sales at 9,939. the third top seller was another annual set offered by the Mint, the 2021 American Innovation Dollar Reverse Proof Set. The Mint reported 1,299 of these were sold in the last week. That puts its total sales at just over 46,000 sets (46,069)
The fourth top seller for the Mint last week was the 2019 American The Beautiful Quarter – River of No Return 2-Roll set. Indeed, four America The Beautiful Quarter 2-roll sets made into the top ten selling products for the Mint last week. As for why these were top sellers this week, it likely comes down to them still being available and no new products being released by the Mint this week.
