Maya Angelou American Women Quarter Bags & Rolls Sales Start Today

The United States Mint will begin sales of the first American Women Quarter Program release honoring Maya Angelou starting today. Sales of the new Quarter will begin at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific. All of the products will be available directly from the United States Mint. None of the products offered have a production, mintage, or household limit.

For those who have enrolled in the 2-Roll or 3-Roll Enrollment Program for the American Women Quarter Program, check your email. You should have received notification from the Mint that your order has been fulfilled.

The Maya Angelou quarter is the first of five in the American Women Quarter series that will be released this year. Honoring Maya Angelou, Dr. Sally Ride, Wilma Mankiller, Nina Otero-Warren, and Anna May Wong, the Quarters for 2022 will have a Reverse design honoring each of these influential women in American History as well as have the Laura Gardin Fraser design featuring a right facing George Washington. You can see all the designs of these new quarters here.

Maya Angelou was a writer, poet, performer, social activist, and teacher who rose to international prominence as an author after the publication of her groundbreaking autobiography “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.”

The United States Mint will offer a total of five products today for purchase.

As these products have no production or mintage limit, they should remain available throughout most of this year. However, the Mint has been known to sell out of these products and not make them available again such as the South Carolina American Innovation Dollar roll sets from last year. Readers are advised to buy their desired products on the 7th or shortly thereafter to make sure you get them for your collection.

Finally, as mentioned earlier, the Mint is offering an Enrollment Program for the 2-roll and 3-roll sets which will assure you get each of those sets for all of the American Women Quarter Program releases this year. You can find out details about the enrollment programs available by viewing the product pages (linked above) for the roll sets.
