The United States Mint has updated its weekly numismatic product sales report for the seven days ending Sunday, September 11, 2022. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. This week, the Mint reported total numismatic product sales of 3,943 products, a significant from the previous week’s report.
The sales total this week is misleading. The Mint reported many returned products, mainly from the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor commemoratives released earlier this year. The Mint did not indicate the reason for the returns in the report.
For the year, the United States Mint has now sold 10,936,870 numismatic products to collectors.
According to this week’s report, all of the top ten selling products have been products released this year. Unsurprisingly, the top seller was the 2022 Proof Set. The standard Proof Set added another 2,247 sets to its sales total, which now stands at 326,005. This was followed closely by the 2022 Uncirculated Coin Set, which registered 2,152 sets sold in the past week. Rounding out the top three was the 100-Coin Bag from Denver of the new Tennessee American Innovation Dollar. An impressive 1,135 of the bags were sold in the past week.
