As expected, the United States Mint has begun selling the 2-Roll set of 2019 Kennedy Half Dollar today. The rolls consist of 20 coins each, one roll from the Denver Mint while the other is from the Philadelphia Mint. The set is $32.95 and available on the US Mint site.
These rolls consist uncirculated finished coins and while the Mint lists them as part of the circulation coins for the United States, the Half Dollar never actually sees circulation – unless it is by mistake. All 40 of the coins in this 2-roll set have the uncirculated finish.
The Kennedy half dollars feature the original 1964 obverse (heads) design with the image of President John F. Kennedy. The design inscriptions on the obverse are “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2019.” The reverse (tails) design is based on the Presidential Coat of Arms. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “HALF DOLLAR.”
If you really want to go all-in on the 2019 Kennedy Half Dollar, the mint has also made the 200 count bag available today too. It is $139.95 and you can get details on it here on the US Mint site.
As many collectors know, the 2019 Kennedy Half is not going to be released into general circulation.
