During a visit to the San Francisco Mint facility, United States Mint Director David Ryder signed nine 2019 Proof Sets. Those sets will be randomly distributed to customers who buy the sets through the Mint’s site. The distribution will be completely random, meaning there is no way for you to order one. It is if your order is filled with one of those sets.
Director Ryder’s signature will be on all of the various components that make up the 2019 Proof Set. This includes:
- The Product Insert
- Certificate of Authenticity
- The Product Carton
Additionally, each set that Director Ryder signed will be numbered 1 though 9.
Each year, Proof Sets are one of the top sellers for the Mint. Reasonably price at $27.95, this year’s set consists of 10 coins from the Cent through Dollar. They are minted in San Francisco and carry the S mint mark. For 2019, the Proof Set also came with a 2019-W Lincoln Cent in Proof state as a bonus.
The Mint does not set a limit on the production of these sets so they are readily available to add to your collection. You can pick one up – and maybe one signed by Director Ryder – through the Mint’s site. Here is the link to the Product Page. Also note that there is no limit to the number a household can purchase.
