The United States Mint will begin sales of the limited edition Reverse Proof of the 2019 Georgia American Innovation Dollar on February 11, 2020. The coin, which comes in a four-panel holder, is priced at $11.50 each.
Georgia was the fourth American Innovation Dollar released in the series in 2019, which will eventually have 53 coins when it is done in 2032. A total of five American Innovation Dollars have now been released. The bags and rolls for the Georgia American Innovation Dollar went on sale back in December.
The Reverse Proof coin is minted in San Francisco and the four-panel holder it comes in also contains the Mint’s Certificate of Authenticity.
The Obverse of the coin features the now familiar Statue of Liberty design while the Reverse depicts homage to the Trustees’ Garden in Georgia.
The reverse depicts a hand planting seeds in the inscription “TRUSTEES’ GARDEN,” from which grows a variety of species representing the variety of plants grown in the garden: an orange tree seedling, sassafras, grapes, white mulberry, flax, peaches, olive, and a young shoot too small to be identified. Additional inscriptions are “GEORGIA” and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”
