The Central States Numismatic Society (CSNS) has announced its cancellation of its 2020 convention. The event, scheduled for April 22-25, 2020 is being called off due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. It is the latest Numismatic-centric event to be cancelled.
Our focus is the safety and health of our booth holders, exhibitors, collectors and the general public. Therefore, in accordance with recommendations from health officials to cease activities where people gather together in large and close groups, we are canceling our convention

The auction that was scheduled to be held during the event will go ahead. Heritage Auctions will hold the auction on the scheduled dates but will hold it at its Dallas, Texas headquarters instead of the on-site location of the convention. More information on the auction can be found at www.ha.com.

The announcement of the cancellation comes just a few days after the Whitman Coin and Collectibles Expo was cancelled due to Coronavirus. This was preceded by other international coin shows being cancelled.
COVID-19 has now infected over 187,000 people globally with over 7,400 deaths as a result. The United States along with other countries are taking significant measures to slow the spread of the virus including banning large groups from meeting, closing of restaurants and bars, and encouraging citizens to self quarantine for the next 14-28 days.
