The final American Innovation Dollar release of 2020 is set to debut next week. The Maryland American Innovation Dollar will go on sale starting at Noon Eastern on December 14th directly from the United States Mint. The latest dollar coin from the mint will be available in bags and rolls from both the Denver and Philadelphia Mints.
In all, four products will be available, all of which have no mintage limit nor household limits on the number that you can purchase. Here are the products, pricing, and links to each of the products that will be available next week:
- 25-Coin Roll (Philadelphia) – $34.50
- 25-Coin Roll (Denver) – $34.50
- 100-Coin Bag (Philadelphia) – $117.50
- 100-Coin Bag (Denver) – $117.50
Like other coins in the American Innovation Dollar series, the Maryland coin will carry the common Obverse (heads) of the Statue of Liberty while the Reverse will depict the Hubble Space Telescope in honor of the state’s contribution to space exploration.
Developed by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and launched on April 24, 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope is one of the largest and most versatile space telescopes. It was named in honor of American astronomer Edwin P. Hubble. It is also the first designed to be serviced in space by astronauts. Teams at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and the Space Telescope Science Institute–both located in Maryland–manage the telescope.
