The final American Innovation Dollar for 2022 is set for release next week. The Tennessee American Innovation Dollar, honoring the Tennessee Valley Authority, will go on sale at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific on August 30, 2022. As has been the case with previous American Innovation releases, collectors will be able to buy both bags and rolls of the coin.
The American Innovation $1 Coin representing Tennessee recognizes the formation of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Congress created the TVA in 1933 to construct transmission lines to serve farms and villages that were not otherwise supplied with electricity at reasonable rates.

A total of four products will be availble for purchase:
- 25-Coin Roll (Philadelphia) – $34.50
- 25-Coin Roll (Denver) – $34.50
- 100-Coin Bag (Philadelphia) – $117.50
- 100-Coin Bag (Denver) – $117.50
The Mint has significantly limited the production of the bags and rolls for sale. Only 7,020 of each of the rolls will be available with just 2,790 of each bag available.
As for availability, it is expected to be very low. Like many of the products being offered by the United States Mint this year, the American Innovation Dollar products have largely been accounted for by those in the Mint’s Enrollment Program.
The new Dollar coin came about through legislation passed in 2018 and is set to run through the year 2032. In all, there will be 57 coins released in the program with the first one released on December 14, 2018. That coin, however, was an introductory coin fundamentally to show the coin off to the public and was never released for circulation.
