The United States Mint will begin sales of the Jovita Idar American Women Quarter next week. The Mint will make available 100-coin bags and 40-coin rolls of the latest quarter in the series on October 23rd at Noon Eastern. The coin celebrates Maria Tallchief, and is the last of the five American Women Quarter program releases for this year.
Maria Tallchief broke barriers as a dancer and a Native American exhibiting strength and resilience both on and off the stage. At the age of 17, she moved to New York City to pursue her dreams of becoming a ballerina. Her role as the “Sugar Plum Fairy” in The Nutcracker was pivotal in the ballet’s success in America.
On release day, the Mint will have five products available for purchase:
- 100-Coin Bag (Philadelphia) – $45.00
- 100-Coin Bag (Denver) – $45.00
- 2-Roll Set (40-Coins Each) (Philadelphia & Denver) – $40.00
- 3-Roll Set (40-Coins Each) (Philadelphia, Denver, & San Francisco) – $60.00
Note that on the 3-roll set, the San Francisco roll is uncirculated, and not a proof quality roll.
Production and household limits are in place for purchasing these products from the Mint. On release day, it is expected they will be quick sellouts. The Mint does offer a subscription program for the American Women Quarter program, which is the quickest and surest way you will get the products you want for your collection.
