If you aren’t familiar with the Pointed 9 variety of 1964 Roosevelt Dimes, don’t feel discouraged, as it is not an often discussed variety. In early 1964, the dies used had a more sharply pointed tail, while the more common blunt tail can about as a result of a new Obverse hub being used. There is no known official mintage number for the Pointed 9 variety, but it is estimated to be around 2 million of the 933 miilion 1964 Dimes minted in Philadelphia.
