The 2024-S American Eagle silver proof coin will be available next week. The one-ounce silver coin, in a Proof finish from the San Francisco Mint, will be available on Wednesday, August 7th. Sales will begin at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific on the Mint’s website. With the recently announced price increases from the United States Mint, this year, the San Francisco-minted Proof is priced at $95. While there is a household purchase limit of 25 coins, there are no production limits on the coin from the Mint.
The silver American Eagle features the classic Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman, featured on the coin’s obverse (heads), which has long been a collector favorite. It depicts Liberty in full stride, enveloped in flag folds, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. The United States Mint returned to its original historical assets to reflect Weinman’s original version and detail, including adding his traditional artist mark. Inscriptions are “LIBERTY,” “2024,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
Despite the price increase, the 2024-S American Eagle proof is expected to sell well, with initial demand likely to be high. The coin will be available throughout 2024, so if you cannot purchase it immediately, it should be available when you are ready to purchase.
