Michigan American Innovation Dollar Available Starting April 8th

The Michigan American Innovation Dollar, the second American Innovation Dollar for 2025, is scheduled for release next week. The dollar coin will be available in 25-coin rolls and 100-coin bags on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. The coins will be available exclusively from the United States Mint. Those who have enrolled in the Subscription Program for the coin will have their orders fulfilled without having to visit the Mint’s site on release day.

The Michigan American Innovation Dollar honors the automobile assembly line. This remarkable innovation, invented by Henry Ford in 1913, revolutionized the automobile industry. The reverse design features a 1930s-era assembly line where a team of auto workers lowers an automobile cab into place.

As with previous American Innovation dollar releases, the Mint will release four products:

The American Innovation Dollar coin came about through legislation passed in 2018 and is set to run through 2032. There will be 57 coins released in the program, with the first one released on December 14, 2018. However, that coin was an introductory coin to show the coin off to the public and was never released for circulation. So far, the Mint has released 22 of the planned 57 coins. Collectors can buy the coins directly from the Mint in the form of bags, rolls, and annual Proof and Reverse Proof sets.
