The United States Mint has published their weekly sales report for the period of April 22-28, 2019. For the second week in a row, the 2019 Silver Proof Set is the top seller for the Mint. In the reporting period, 16,856 units were sold. That brings the total up to 208,526 units.
The total is impressive given the Silver Proof Set has only been available for 12 days (to the end of the report). The same set for 2018 struggled to hit these sales figures over the length of a three-month period.
The Silver Proof Set was by far the biggest gainer in the report. The standard 2019 Proof Set, the number two best seller in the report, added 4,991 units to bring its total sales to 290,274. In third was the 2019-W Proof Silver Eagle. It added 2,143 units to bring its total sales up to 265,034
If you want to pick up one of these top selling Proof Sets, they are $54.95 on the US Mint site. There is no household limit on the sets and the Mint does not have a production limit for them either. That means they should be readily available throughout the year.
