The special 3-coin set for the War in the Pacific National Historical Park Quarter will be going on sale later today. The set will be available from on the US Mint site starting at Noon Eastern, 9:00 am Pacific and is priced at $9.95. The follows up on the release of rolls and bags of the Quarter being made available by the Mint earlier this month.
The set includes an uncirculated example of the recently released America The Beautiful Quarter from the Philadelphia and Denver mints along with a Proof from the San Francisco Mint. It is housed in a special 3-coin placard with information about the memorial and the Quarters themselves on the back of it.
War in the Pacific National Historical Park is the third of five sites to be honored in 2019 and the 48th overall in the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program. The park was established to commemorate the bravery, courage, and sacrifice of those participating in the campaigns of the Pacific Theater of World War II. The park also conserves and interprets a variety of amazing resources found on Guam, including both land and underwater acreage.
The reverse (tails) design depicts American forces coming ashore at Asan Bay, strengthening the number of troops on the island in the fight for Guam and its eventual liberation. Inscriptions are “WAR IN THE PACIFIC,” “GUAM,” “2019,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
Each three-coin set features an uncirculated quarter from the Philadelphia Mint, an uncirculated quarter from the Denver Mint, and a proof quarter from the San Francisco Mint. The coins are held in a durable plastic card that features a picturesque image and a brief description of the site and the coin, as well as a Certificate of Authenticity on the back of the card.
There is no production limit or household limit on the purchase of this set, which makes them a great gift idea.
