As reported last week, the new 3-coin San Antonio Missions National Historical Park set is now available from the United States Mint. The $9.95 set includes an example of the latest America the Beautiful Quarter from the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco Mints. You can find it at the Mint’s site here. The coins from Philadelphia and Denver are in uncirculated condition while the San Francisco sample will be in proof state. All three coins are set in a plastic card with a Certificate of Authenticity on the reverse of the card.
Featuring the familiar George Washington Obverse, the Reverse is set to symbolize the heritage and culture surrounding the San Antonio Missions.
The reverse (tails) design depicts elements of the Spanish Colonial Real coin to pay tribute to the missions. Within the quadrants are symbols of the missions: wheat symbolizes farming, the arches and bell symbolize community, a lion represents Spanish cultural heritage, and a symbol of the San Antonio River represents irrigation methods and life-sustaining resources. Inscriptions are “SAN ANTONIO MISSIONS” “TEXAS,” “2019,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

As with other sets like this in the America the Beautiful Quarter series, there is no production limit on these 3-coin sets. There also not a household limit to the number that can be purchased, making these a great gift idea for collectors.
