The United States Mint will begin sales of the Happy Birthday Coin Set 2020 later today. Sales will begin on the Mint’s site starting at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific. The 5-coin Proof Set can be found at this link and is priced at $19.95.
The coins in the commemorative set are all in Proof state from the San Francisco Mint facility and all will carry the “S” Mint Mark. Here are the coins in the set:
- 2020-S Lincoln Cent
- 2020-S Jefferson Nickel
- 2020-S Roosevelt Dime
- 2020-S Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve (America the Beautiful)
- 2020-S Kennedy Half Dollar
The festive packaging, adorned with gift boxes and balloons, includes the words “Happy Birthday!” and “2020 United States Mint Happy Birthday Coin Set.” The coins are encapsulated in the folder so both the obverse (heads) and reverse (tails) of each coin can be seen. There is even space to write your personal birthday greeting to the recipient for a truly thoughtful gift.
The Certificate of Authenticity is printed on the back of the folder, and coin specifications appear on the back of the sleeve along with the official seal of the Department of the Treasury.
As you would expect, the Happy Birthday Coin Set for this year will be available throughout 2020. There is no household limit to the number that you can purchase and, likewise, the Mint has no production or sales limits in place for it.
The Happy Birthday set is not a big seller for the Mint but does make a unique gift for kids and for adults (better than a gift card!). As of the November 3, 2019 Sales Report, the last publicly available report from the Mint, the 2019 set had sold just over 16,000 units.
