Today’s Deal is on an excellent example of the Standing Liberty Quarter. APMEX through their Amazon storefront is selling a 1930 specimen in Fine condition for $23.52. That is just shy of the $30 book price for this coin and it includes free shipping for everyone.

The Standing Liberty Quarter was minted from 1916 to 1930 before it was replaced with the Washington Quarter. That makes these that are available in this deal are the last year that the coin was minted. They consist of 90% silver. From 1916 to 1924, the date was flush with the surface details on the Obverse. This lead to high wear of the date so in 1924, the Mint modified the dies so the date was more recessed. Also, in 1916, the first year of the coin’s production, Liberty’s right breast was exposed. This caused a bit of a stir so in 1917 chain mail was added to the die to cover it. That makes the 1916 coin very expensive and difficult to find.
APMEX is selling this coin through their Amazon storefront and at the time of this post, there were 19 of them available for purchase. Shipping for everyone is free, regardless of your Prime membership status.
