The latest United States Mint product celebrating the National Park of American Samoa America the Beautiful Quarter will go on sale next week. The ever popular 3-coin set, featuring the Quarter from all three Mint facilities, will go on sale at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.
The set will be priced at $11.50 and will be available directly from the United States Mint. It is the latest product featuring the newest America the Beautiful Quarter. Bags & Rolls went on sale on February 3rd while the 5-ounce silver bullion coin went on sale February 6th.
The 3-coins set of the Quarter will come in a placard featuring an uncirculated sample of the coin from the Denver, Philadelphia, and San Francisco Mint. A certificate of Authenticity is on the back of the card.
The National Park of American Samoa Quarter was the first America the Beautiful Quarter for 2020. In total, five ATB coins will be offered in 2020, the last year of full production of the series. A single and final Quarter will be released in 2021.
The reverse (tails) design depicts a Samoan fruit bat mother hanging in a tree with her pup. The image evokes the remarkable care and energy this species puts into its offspring. The design is intended to promote awareness to the species’ threatened status resulting from habitat loss and commercial hunting. The National Park of American Samoa is the only park in the U.S. national park system the Samoan fruit bat calls home. Inscriptions are “NATIONAL PARK,” “AMERICAN SAMOA,” “2020,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
As with other 3-coins sets sold by the Mint in the America the Beautiful Quarter series, there is no mintage or production limit on this product. Further, there is no household limit on purchases of the coin. These are a great way to add the new quarter to your collection at a relatively low cost.
To get more details, you can go to the product page on the Mint’s site. There you can setup a reminder for the 18th to let you know by text or email that sales have opened up.
