The United States Mint has released its weekly Sales Report for the 7-day period ending July 12, 2020. As expected, several new products made it into the top ten list with the new 2020-W American Eagle Silver Uncirculated bullion coin dominating sales for the week. For the week, six of the ten top ten selling items made their debut on the list this week.
The new American Eagle silver coin made its debut on July 8th and as expected, sales were brisk. 99,899 of the 1-ounce pure silver coins were sold in the week, easily making it the top selling product for the United States Mint for the week. In a distant second was another new product, the 3-coin set for the new America The Beautiful Quarter for Salt River Historical Park. 10,535 of the sets were sold, which considering it was only on sale for two days of the seven in this report, is a respectable sales total.
In third place as far as sales were concerned was the 2020-W American Eagle Silver Proof 1-ounce coin. 9,654 of these bullion coins were sold in the last week, likely getting a bit of the “honeymoon” effect with the Uncirculated specimen being available this week. For the year, 282,445 of the Proof Eagles have now been sold. In fourth was the Salt River Historical Park 3-roll set in the America The Beautiful Quarter series. 5,990 of the roll sets were sold in the week. Finally, rounding out the top five was the 2020 Proof Set. Another 5,073 of the sets were sold in the week ending July 12, 2020, putting its total sales for the year at 307,475.
