The United States Mint has announced that the next Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) meeting is now scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, 2020. The meeting will be hosted by teleconference and will begin at 11:00 AM Eastern.
The meeting is has one scheduled agenda topic which is to discuss and review the design candidates for the upcoming Hidden Figures Congressional Gold Medal:
- Review and discussion of obverse and reverse candidate designs for the Congressional Gold Medals honoring Katherine Johnson and Dr. Christine Darden in accordance with the Hidden Figures Congressional Gold Medal Act
Like other CCAC meetings, this one is open to the public for those who want to attend. You can dial in to the meeting, in listen-only mode, by calling (888) 330-1716 and using the access code 1137147 when prompted. The meeting is scheduled until 1:00 PM Eastern on November 17.
The CCAC was established in 2003 by Congress under Public Law 108-15 to advise the Secretary of the Treasury on the themes and designs of all US coins and medals. The CCAC serves as an informed, experienced and impartial resource to the Secretary of the Treasury and represents the interests of American citizens and collectors.
