The American Numismatic Association (ANA) has announced the dates for the 2021 Summer Seminar Series. As has been the case previously, there will be two sessions. The first will be held June 19-24, 2021 while the second will be conducted June 26-July 1, 2021. Currently the plan is to host the 2021 Summer Seminar series in person, but the location is still undecided.
Traditionally, the ANA has held the vent at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. However, the site will not be able to host the event due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The ANA is considering two locations currently: The Antlers, a Wyndham Hotel property, in Colorado Springs as well as the University of Denver in Denver.
As readers may recall, the 2020 Summer Seminar series had to be canceled due to the pandemic. It was one of many coin shows, events, and seminars that were cancelled throughout 2020. While the ANA is attempting to hold the 2021 event as an in-person event, local, state, and perhaps federal regulations around social distancing and large gatherings could greatly impact the size of the event, or if it could be held with attendees in person.
One good note: For those who received scholarships to attend this year, those scholarships will be honored in 2021.
