Over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, the United State Mint quietly released its 2021 Production Schedule for Numismatic products. The schedule can be found here and starts with the first products set for release on January 5, 2021.
As has been the case for the last few years, dates for product releases beyond March 2021 are indicated as Spring or Summer while further dates later in the year are indicated as TBD. This is standard procedure for the Mint as dates for products later in 2021, in some case, are not at the final design stage and will not be for several more months.
According to the 2021 Production Schedule, the first products will be released on January 5, 2021 and will consist of the annual Birth Set and the Happy Birthday Coin Set. Those will be quickly followed on January 7, 2021 with the release of the 2021-W American Eagle Silver Proof coin and the 2021 Congratulations Set. Although the American Eagle is set for a change in its Reverse design for next year, these early products will bare the current Reverse. The new design is not expected until later in the year.
Some other highlights of products set for release next year include:
- Air Force Silver Medal on February 8, 2021
- Tuskegee Airmen America the Beautiful Quarter Bags & Rolls on February 8, 2021
- 2021 Proof Set on March 5, 2021
- 2021 American Eagle Gold Sets and Coins on March 11, 2021
- 2021 Silver Proof Set in Spring
- 2021 American Eagle Silver Proof Coin (New Reverse) in Summer
