The United States Mint has released its weekly sales report for the seven day period ending January 17, 2021. The report shows an overall lackluster week for the Mint as there were no new products and the normal slow sales start to each new year was in full effect. However, the report shows that annual sets remained strong as well as multiple American Innovation Dollar products. Overall the Mint sold just 9,469 new Numismatic products for the week ending January 17, 2021.
The top two sellers for the Mint were the first new products released in 2021. The 2021 Happy Birthday Coin Set had 1,085 additional sets sold last week, pushing its total sales to 7,278. Closely behind it was the 2021 Birth Set. That coin set had 812 units sold this past week, putting its total sales so far for the year at 5,916.
The third and fourth best sellers for the Mint last week were American Innovation Dollar products. The Maryland 2020 American Innovation Dollar Reverse Proof was the third top seller with 787 coins sold, putting its total at 29,820 since its release. Interestingly, three American Innovation Dollar Reverse Proof coins were in the top ten list this week with the Massachusetts coin the eighth best seller while the Connecticut coin was the tenth best seller. Meanwhile the 2020 American Innovation Dollar Proof Set sold 540 times last week, put its total sales at just under 80,000 since its release (79,160).
The fifth best seller for the January 17 report was the 2020 Proof Set. Just 416 of the sets were sold, which pushed the total sales for the set to 464,522.
