PNG Expels Member Jason Bradford

The Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) has issued the following Press Release, announcing the expulsion of member Jason Bradford. Bradford, owner of Legacy Currency Grading, was suspended in July 2019 for actions that were prejudicial to the PNG. Details of those actions were not released then nor were they released today. The PNG simply announced that he had been expelled rather than reinstate his membership or accept his resignation.

The Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) is a nonprofit trade association composed of the country’s top rare coin and paper money dealers. To be a member, they must follow a strict Code of Ethics in the buying and selling of numismatic products. You can read the Code of Ethics requirements here. This is part of the general membership requirements of the Professional Numismatists Guild, which includes:

  1. Be at least 21 years of age, and have five years experience as a professional numismatist.
  2. Have a net worth at all times of at least $500,000.
  3. Agree by signature to abide by the PNG Code of Ethics.
  4. Agree to submit to binding arbitration to settle any dispute relating to the purchase, sale or trade of coins / numismatic items.
  5. Provide a notarized statement from a certified public accountant that you meet or exceed the financial requirements of the PNG.

It is because of these strict membership restrictions and the detailed code of ethics that suspensions or expulsions from PNG are rare.

The Professional Numismatists Guild (www.PNGdealers.org) voted on April 8, 2021 to expel member Jason Bradford for conduct prejudicial to the PNG.

Bradford, of Legacy Currency Grading, joined the PNG in 2015 as member #765, and his membership was suspended in July 2019. PNG Executive Director Robert Brueggeman said that in accordance with PNG Bylaws, after an ongoing review of the matter the Board of Directors voted to expel him rather than reinstate his membership in the organization or accept his resignation.
