The United States Mint has updated its daily bullion sales report through to this morning, Monday, April 12, 2021. This week’s report shows that the Mint sold 612,500 bullion coins across the American Eagle and American Buffalo bullion coin series’. As is normally the case each week, the American Eagle silver bullion one ounce coin was the top seller.
Of the 612,500 bullion coins sold by the Mint last week, 596,000 of those were the silver American Eagle. That puts its total sales for the year at 12.6495 million coins. This continues to be well ahead of the sales pace for 2020 and the 596,000 sold in the past week is within striking distance of the 750,000 coins sold in April 2020.
The only other American Eagle bullion product sold last week was the one ounce gold American Eagle. 13,000 of the coins were sold in the week, putting its yearly sales total at 380,000 coins. Like its silver counterpart, the gold ounce coin is well ahead of its 2020 sales pace so far this year.
Rounding out the sales for this week was the American Buffalo gold one ounce bullion coin. 3,500 of these coins were sold last week by the Mint, putting its total sales for the year at 114,500 coins.
