The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic product sales report for the week ending April 25, 2021. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. The report shows that the Mint sold a total of 188,860 products last week, the vast majority of those on the new-for-last-week 2021 Silver Proof Set
In total, the 2021 Silver Proof Set sold 172,468 sets, despite its $105 price tag. The set clearly still remains popular amongst collectors despite the cost. The sales total for the set is noteworthy in that it hit this sales total being available only three days for this week’s report.
A distant second was the standard 2021 Proof Set. 9,851 of the sets were sold last week, putting its total sales just shy of two-hundred and fifty thousand at 247,633. Seeing both of this year’s Proof Sets in the top two sales slots is not surprising. Often the original set, which is released early in the year, sees a “honeymoon” effect when the silver set is released.
The third top seller for the Mint last week was the 2021 Christa McAuliffe Proof Silver Dollar. 1,111 of these coins were sold, putting its total sales at 32,664. Meanwhile, the 2021 Birth Set was the fourth top seller with 593 sets sold and the 2020 American Innovation Dollar Proof Set rounding out the top five selling products with another 554 sets sold in the week.
Here then is the complete top ten selling products for the United States Mint for last week.
