The United States Mint will begin sales of the 2021-W American Eagle Uncirculated silver one ounce coin starting next week. Sales will begin on September 9th at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific. The one ounce coin is priced at $67.00 with a household limit of 3 coins. There is a total production limit of 175,000.
The silver American Eagle Uncirculated coin that goes on sale next week will feature the new-for-2021 Reverse design, referred to as the Type-2. It is a significant departure from the original design used since 1986 up until the early part of this year. It also brings a wide range of security enhancements, some of which the Mint has disclosed. The obverse (heads) features a refreshed depiction of Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left.

The uncirculated silver Eagle is part of the Mint’s Enrollment Program. If you are already enrolled in the program, your subscription to the new Type-2 designs simply rolled over to it. You will get your normal shipment, up to 3 coins, as you did earlier in the year. If you are curious about the Enrollment Programs the Mint offers, you can check out the details here.
