The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic product sales report for the week ending September 5, 2021. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. The report shows that the Mint sold 30,007 in the past week, a substantial increase over the 2,847 product sold last week. As expected, the Mint’s newest releases dominated the top ten in sales, with products released last week taking five of the top ten in sales.
For 2021, the Mint has now sold 9,796,974 numismatic products.
Taking the top sales position for last week was the 2021 American Innovation Dollar for New York, 25-Coin Roll from Philadelphia. The new roll saw sales of 6,966 units, making it the top seller by nearly 1,000 units. It was followed closely by the Denver roll for the New York Innovation Dollar with 5,949. Indeed, all four of the New York American Innovation dollar products – the 25-coin rolls and 100-coin bags – all made the top ten in sales this week.
The third top seller for the United States Mint last week was also a new release: The 2021-W American Eagle Palladium one ounce coin. The Mint reported that 3,817 of the 12,000 coins available were sold in its first week of availability. Meanwhile, the 2021 Proof Set continued its nearly weekly strong sales last week, adding another 3,385 sets to its total sales for the year. That total for 2021 now sits at 342,195.
