The United States Mint has released its weekly numismatic product sales report for the week ending October 3, 2021. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. The report shows that the Mint sold 216,333. This is up from the 66,811 reported in last week’s report.
Unsurprisingly, the top two selling products for the United States Mint last week were new releases. The top seller was the 2021 Uncirculated Coin Set. The Mint reported a total of 153,895 sets being sold in its first few days of availability. This is well over half of the total sales of the 2020 Uncirculated Set. Last year, the set saw a total of 313,246 sets sold. Meanwhile, the other new release, the 2021 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set, was the second best seller last week. The premium set saw 48,286 sets sold last week. This is just below the 50,000 total sets that the Mint was making available. Currently, on the Mint’s site, the set is shown as being out of stock which likely means all the sets have now been sold.
Rounding out the top three in numismatic product sales for the Mint last week was the 2021 Proof Set. The standard annual set added another 7,211 sets to its sales total, which is now just shy of 360,000 for the year (359,767). That sales total puts it just over 100,000 sets behind the 2020 Proof Set. That set sold 465,081 last year.
The fourth top seller was another annual set, the 2021 Silver Proof Set. 3,266 sets were sold last week, putting its sales total for 2021 at 233,149. Rounding out the top fives was the 2021 Birth Set with 465 sets sold.
