CCAC Meeting Set for February 15, 2022

The Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) has announced that it will be holding its next scheduled meeting on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. The meeting will begin at 1:00 PM Eastern and the public is invited to listen in on the meeting.

The meeting currently has one item on the agenda, which is to review and discuss the Obverse and Reverse design candidates of the 2023 American Liberty High Relieve 24K Gold Coin and Silver Medal. It is possible other items will enter the agenda during the February 15 meeting, but this is the for-sure topic of discussion.

ABOUT THE CCAC

In accordance with 31 U.S.C. 5135, the CCAC:

  1. Advises the Secretary of the Treasury on any theme or design proposals relating to circulating coinage, bullion coinage, Congressional Gold Medals, and national and other medals.
  2. Advises the Secretary of the Treasury with regards to the events, persons, or places to be commemorated by the issuance of commemorative coins in each of the five calendar years succeeding the year in which a commemorative coin designation is made.
  3. Makes recommendations with respect to the mintage level for any commemorative coin recommended.

The CCAC was established in 2003 by Congress under Public Law 108-15.
