The Vermont American Innovation Dollar is set to go on sale at the United States Mint’s website starting today. The Mint will begin offering bags and rolls of the newest coin in the series starting at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific. However, it is likely that an extremely small amount of the products – if any – will be available today.
The Mint announced earlier that all of the Enrollment Programs for the American Innovation Dollar releases this year were full and no more subscriptions were being accepted. That means the production limits for these bags and rolls have already been reached and accounted for in pre-sale through these programs. It is the first time the American Innovation Dollar series has filled its enrollment programs. The net result of this, much like the 2022-W American Eagle release, is that virtually none of these bags and rolls will be available today to those who are not in the programs.
Turning to the release itself, as is usually the case, four products will be available:
- 25-Coin Roll (Philadelphia) – $34.50
- 25-Coin Roll (Denver) – $34.50
- 100-Coin Bag (Philadelphia) – $117.50
- 100-Coin Bag (Denver) – $117.50
The Vermont $1 Coin features a young female snowboarder in the air performing a trick called a “melon grab,” set against a mountainous winter skyline inspired by the landscape of Vermont. The aim of the design is to capture a sense of the energy and exuberance of snowboarding through movement implied by diagonal lines and curved shapes. Inscriptions include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “VERMONT.”
With low production limits in place for the bags and rolls, it is likely that collectors who are not in the enrollment programs will need to look to the secondary market to pick up these coins. The Proof Set and Reverse Proof Set of the coins are still available through the Enrollment Programs. To sign up for those, head to this link.
