The United States Mint will begin sales of the 2022-W American Eagle Uncirculated gold coin starting next week. The one-ounce, 24-karat coin will go on sale at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific on June 16, 2022. The Mint has set a mintage and production limit of just 9,000 coins with a household purchase limit of one coin. This limit is just 100 less coins than the Mint set for the 2021 uncirculated gold Eagle.
At the time of this article, the Mint has not released pricing for the uncirculated gold 2022-W American Eagle, which is normal practice. For gold product, the Mint usually does not release the pricing until the actual release day as it is tied to bullion prices.
The Obverse of the coin continues the iconic full-length figure of Liberty with flowing hair that was designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens while the Reverse will feature the design introduced last year by Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) designer Jennie Norris.
With the demand for gold, silver, and platinum bullion products continuing to remain high, it is expected that this product will sell out quickly, possibly on release day. For those who want to add the coin to their collection or investment portfolio, you can expect a price of around $2700.
