2022-W American Eagle Uncirculated Gold Coin Sales Begin Today

The United States Mint will begin sales of the 2022-W American Eagle Uncirculated gold coin starting today. The one-ounce, 24-karat coin will go on sale at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific. The Mint has set a mintage and production limit of just 9,000 coins with a household purchase limit of one coin. This limit is just 100 less coins than the Mint set for the 2021 uncirculated gold Eagle.

This year, the uncirculated gold 2022-W American Eagle is priced at $2,670

The obverse design features Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ iconic full-length figure of Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. Using technical advancements, the United States Mint returned to its original historical assets to render a current design that is a closer reflection of Saint-Gaudens’ original vision and detail. Inscriptions are “LIBERTY” and “2022”

The Reverse will feature the design introduced last year by Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) designer Jennie Norris.

With the demand for gold, silver, and platinum bullion products continuing to remain high, it is expected that this product will sell out quickly, possibly on release day. For those who want to add the coin to their collection or investment portfolio, you can expect a price of around $2700.

    • Oh sure, it would be lovely to have one! But my budget says no. I’m not surprised they are still there. I do think they will sell out in the next week or two, but economic pressure is high on a lot of folks and they may be waiting until things settle down a bit.
