The United States Mint has updated its weekly numismatic product sales report for the seven-day period ending Sunday, August 28, 2022. The report covers the previous seven days in numismatic product sales by the Mint and is separate from the bullion sales report. This week, the Mint reported total numismatic product sales of 22,502 products, a sigificant drop from the previous week’s report.
For the first time this year, all of the top ten selling products for the United States Mint were 2022 specimens or sets. This was led by the 2022 Proof Set with a report 4.068 sets sold in the past week. For the year, the Mint is now reporting that 319,646 of the standard annual proof coin sets have been sold.
Last week, the United States Mint released the American Women Quarter Program ornaments and all five of the special releases were in the top ten in sales for the week. While sales were strong for all five of the pieces, surprisingly none were completely sold out upon availability. Indeed, all five remain available on the Mint’s site at the time of this article.
The 2022 Uncirculated Coin Set was the fourth top seller this week with a report 2,2027 sets sold while the 2022 Silver Proof Set was the eigth top seller with 1,673 sets sold. Rounding out the top ten were the 40-coin rolls for the 2022-S and 2022-W American Eagle Silver Proofs.
