The Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) will hold a public meeting later this month. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 27, at Noon Eastern. It is slated to conclude at 4:00 PM Eastern. The agenda for the February 27 meeting is busy, with design reviews of some of the 2025 American Innovation Dollar coins and the Cent and Nickel designs for the 2026 semiquincentennial.
Specifically, agenda topics for the meeting include:
- Reviewing and discussing reverse candidate designs for the 2025 American Innovation $1 Coins, which honor innovations in Florida and Texas.
- Reviewing and evaluating design options for the one-cent and five-cent 2026 Semiquincentennial coins.
- Discussing potential future themes for the platinum proof coins.
- Addressing any additional matters of importance.
Additionally, Dr. Peter van Alfen will take the oath of office.

About the CCAC
In accordance with 31 U.S.C. 5135, the CCAC:
- Advises the Secretary of the Treasury on any theme or design proposals relating to circulating coinage, bullion coinage, Congressional Gold Medals, and national and other medals.
- Advises the Secretary of the Treasury with regards to the events, persons, or places to be commemorated by the issuance of commemorative coins in each of the five calendar years succeeding the year in which a commemorative coin designation is made.
- Makes recommendations with respect to the mintage level for any commemorative coin recommended.
The CCAC was established in 2003 by Congress under Public Law 108-15.
