The United States Mint has released its weekly Numismatic Product Sales Report for the seven days ending Sunday, June 30, 2024. The report covers the Mint’s numismatic product sales, such as commemorative coins and annual sets. It is separate from the bullion sales report. The Mint reported net sales of 180,591 numismatic products in the last week.
The bulk of the sales total for the June 30, 2024, report can be found in the 2024 Silver Proof Set. The latest release from the Mint was the clear top seller for the week, with reported sales of 143,126 sets. It was followed distantly by the 2024 Proof Set, which saw sales of 12,387 sets. Completing the top three in sales was the 2024-W American Eagle Silver Proof. According to the Mint’s report, 5,248 of the coins were sold last week.
The demand for the 2024 Silver Proof Set was higher than expected, especially considering its lofty $130 price. For comparison, the 2023 Silver Proof Set has seen 193,256 sets sold in its nearly year of availability. It would seem that the 2024 premium set will surpass last year’s set total sales within the next few weeks.
