The United States Mint has opened sales for the 2024 American Eagle Palladium Proof. Sales of the premium American Eagle began yesterday. Just 7,500 of these premium precious metal coins will be produced, with a household limit of ten coins. They are expected to have high sales initially, although a sell-out is hard to predict. In previous years, the American Eagle Palladium proof or uncirculated coin, depending on which one the Mint minted that year, has remained available for upwards of a year after its initial release.
As of the time of this posting, the coin remained available.
Pricing for the coin is set at $1,900 per coin.
The Obverse of the coin features the Winged Liberty Head (or Mercury) Dime design of Adolph A. Weinman, albeit in high relief. The Reverse features a high-relief version of the 1907 American Institute of Architects Gold Medal. Weinman also designed it. Those two designs have been some of the most popular in the history of the United States Mint, adding to the coin’s popularity.
The American Eagle Palladium coin is expected to sell well despite the premium price. With a low production figure, half of what it has been in years past, it is unlikely it will take long for demand to outstrip supply. If you want to add this stunning coin to your collection, you should make your purchase sooner rather than later. Once the 7,500 coins are sold, no additional coins will be minted.
The American Eagle Palladium coin has been produced since 2017.
