Latest ANS Long Table Available on YouTube – Not Kosher—Old and New Tales of Forgeries

The American Numismatic Society (ANS) has made available its latest Long Table event on YouTube. The hour-long video discusses fakes and forgeries of Judean coins. The ANS Long Table is a live webinar held each Friday (excluding holidays) for members, who can interact with the speakers during the event. The recording is posted on YouTube the following week.

In this week’s Long Table, David Hendin (ANS President) will explore fakes and forgeries of Judean coins that have been circulating in the market for decades. In addition to showing many photos, he will also discuss “differential diagnosis” as well as advanced methods for detecting fakes and forgeries.

The ANS Long Table is one of many benefits offered to members of the Society including discounts on ANS publications, in-person and virtual events, like the Long Table, and free access to the Society’s collection (by appointment).

The ANS, founded in 1858, is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organisation based in New York City dedicated to the study of  coins,  medals, and all other numismatic objects. The ANS holds one of the largest collections of numismatic objects in the world and a research library.
