As they have done with the 2019-W Lincoln Cent in Proof and Reverse Proof, Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) is creating a new, special holder for the upcoming Uncirculated variant of the coin.
NGC is celebrating this particular 2019-W Cent with a special attribution of First “W” Uncirculated Cent, as well as NGC’s West Point Mint Gold Star Label, both of which are provided for no additional fee.
NGC Press Release
As readers know by now, the 2019 Uncirculated Mint Set is where you will find the 2019-W Lincoln Cent. It is being included as part of the 20-coin set this year. That set goes on sale May 14, 2019 and is $21.95 from the Mint.
If you get your uncirculated 2019-W Lincoln Cent to NGC within the first 30 days of release, it is also eligible for the Early Release and First Release designations. It is not uncommon for NGC to announce such special holders and designations for unique coins from the United States Mint.
The 2019-W Cent will be released as part of the various annual sets from the Mint this year. The Uncirculated coin will come with the Uncirculated Set while the Proof sample will come with the annual Proof Set. A new Reverse Proof will also be offered with the Silver Proof Set. All three of these sets are available directly from the United States Mint. The 2019-W cents will not be released into general circulation.
In order to submit your coins to NGC, you have to be a member of the organization which starts at $25 per annum. For more details, you can check out the NGC site.
