The United States Mint has released their weekly sales report today. The report covers the previous seven days of sales, ending June 30, 2019. After slipping for a couple of weeks, the 2019 Proof Set has returned to the top spot as this weeks best seller. Last week’s top seller, the Uncirculated 2019-W Silver American Eagle fell to fifth place.
Overall, the 2019 Proof Set added 5,541 units in sales last week, bumping its total number of sales to 357,933. It was followed closely by the 2019 Silver Proof Set which added 4,614 units in the past week. That brings its total to a reasonable 268,100 in total. In third place was the 2019 Uncirculated Set which was the top seller a few weeks back. It added 3,441 sales in the past week, bringing its total to 224,569. Continuing the proof theme, the America The Beautiful Quarter proof and silver proof sets rounded out the top ten in sales.
We also see the Apollo 11 Clad Proof and Silver Proof in the top 10 this week, adding some 531 units to its sales total for the Clad Proof. The Silver Proof did substantially better, adding 1,705 units to its total sales since its introduction earlier this year. With the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing next month, you can expect to see this number grow over the course of the next few weeks.

In general, while the sales figures are lower than last year, the proof sets from the Mint in 2019 continue to be strong, consistent sellers. Given that they are made exclusively for the Numismatic community, it is good to see those of us in the hobby continuing to pick them up and add them to our respective collections.
