Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Five Ounce Proof Silver Dollar Back in Stock

For those of you who have been hoping to get your hands on the 2019 Apollo 11 50th anniversary five ounce proof silver dollar, you now have another chance. The commemorative coin is now back in stock on the United States Mint site, available for $229.95.

The five ounce proof silver dollar was originally released back on January 24th of this year and has done reasonably well in sales. As of the last Mint sales report, 65,083 of the commemoratives have been sold. In total, the Mint will produce 100,000. That means just under 35,000 (34,917 to be exact) remain available.

The five ounce commemorative is the exact same design of the smaller proof silver dollar that commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing mission. It is also unique in that it is the first dome coin that the Mint has ever produced.
