The 2020-W American Eagle Silver Proof Bullion coin is slated to go on sale at the United States Mint next week. Sales will begin on January 9, 2020 at Noon Eastern, 9:00 AM Pacific. Pricing for the coin is set at $64.50, an increase from the 2019 Eagle Proof.. To get more details and to sign up for a reminder when sales start, go to this link on the United States Mint site.
The silver Eagle comes with its traditional blue presentation case along with a certificate of authenticity from the Mint. The design of the bullion coin remains unchanged from previous years and this coin will bare the W Mint Mark for the West Point facility. The coin will also come with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Mint.
The obverse (heads) features Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left.
The reverse (tails) features a heraldic eagle with shield, an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left. The Mint Mark will be found on the Reverse of the coin.
As has been the case with other American Eagle bullion coins, there is no mintage limit on this year’s proof silver coin so the Mint will keep making them throughout the rest of 2020. Equally good news, there is no limit to the number a household can buy. If you are looking for a unique gift for family and friends, this could be a good choice to consider.
